Size Matters2012 Conference

An Annual Conference for Conservative Rabbis Serving Small Congregations, June 4-6 in Wilmette, Illinois

The Size of Success

When it comes to defining and achieving success, size matters. A successful small congregation does not look like a successful large congregation. Neither does a successful rabbi in a small congregation look like a successful rabbi in a large congregation. As rabbis serving small congregations, we understand this all too well. But what exactly does a successful small congregation look like? And how should a rabbi in a small congregation measure success? Are there different frameworks for defining success? This year’s Size Matters conference will focus on answering these very questions.

The Size Matters conference - organized by rabbis in small congregations for rabbis in small congregations – is three days of amazing personal and professional growth in a friendly and supportive environment with rabbis just like you. Those who attended last year all left excited and reenergized to serve their congregations, inspired both by new ideas and new friends.

This year we hope to increase the impact of the conference by opening the conference up to lay leaders. To this end, we have partnered with the USCJ, who will run a separate track for lay leaders, and work with us to plan several joint sessions that will bring lay leaders and rabbis together to learn with, and from, each other. So please consider attending with a member of your lay leadership.

We have also partnered with the RA, who in addition to underwriting this year’s fantastic limmud program with Rabbi Bendat-Appell, will be broadcasting portions of the conference over the internet for the benefit of those colleagues who are unable to attend in person. Hope to see you in June!

You can download the conference flyer here.
